Venue Rules

To protect the stock and the safety of  other members of the syndicate there are a number of rules that are in place to protect everyone. Please take a few moments to look through them .

Venue Rules

  • The season will run from 1st Nov until 31st Oct annually. Dates for the 6 week close season are midday 3rd Jan until 6.am on the 14th Feb
  • ALL members who join the syndicates commit to pay the full annual fees regardless of if they choose to leave, or are asked to leave the syndicate at any point during the season.
  • NO member is allowed to enter or leave the fishery between the hours of 10 p.m and 6 a.m
  • The entrance gate to the fishery MUST be locked IMMEDIATELY upon entering ( BEFORE PARKING UP) and leaving the fishery.
  • Members MUST sign in and out upon entering and leaving the fishery.
  • Members are allowed to fish for a maximum of 7 days after which they must pull off the lakes and leave a day clear before returning ( i.e leave Saturday no return until Monday).
  • Members are allowed to use a maximum of 4 rods on Silverwood and Oakdene.
  • Members must be in possession of their membership cards and valid rod licences.
  • ALL landing nets,cradles,retainers/weigh slings and unhooking mats are provided by Velocity Angling. NO personal equipment is to be brought onto or used at the venue.
  • No keepnets to be used on any of the lakes except in organised mathches.
  • ALL members must ensure that they are using SAFE rigs and not DEATH rigs.
  • Minimum of 12lb breaking strain mono or braided lines (including hooklinks) on Silverwood and Oakdene.
  • Barbed hooks ONLY on all lakes.
  • The use of ALL types of NUTS are BANNED.
  • Particles are permitted but all seeds,peas,beans must be soaked and prepared properly prior to use.
  • Pulling for breaks on tethered fish or snagged lines is NOT allowed, please use the boats.
  • ALL members must carry “carp care” and treat any damage to fish before returning them.
  • Night fishing is allowed on all lakes but any angler under 16 years of age MUST be accompanied by an adult for night time fishing.
  • The 13 boats are for use on Silverwood, but may be used to free tethered fish or snagged lines on Oakdene.
  • ALL members must abide by the boat rules and be considerate to other anglers in their use.
  • Bait boats are permitted on Silverwood and Oakdene.
  • NO rods are to be left unattended at anytime. If you leave your swim lines must be reeled in.
  • NO retaining of fish is allowed unless absolutely necessary and then only for the minimum time possible i.e while you set up to take photos . ALL retaining will be banned after spawning
  • NO litter to be left in swims or around the venue.
  • NO dogs are allowed on the complex.
  • NO firearms or weapons are allowed on the complex
  • Any member caught removing or introducing any fish will be liable for prosecution.
  • Wire traces MUST be used for pike fishing
  • Barbless or semi-barbed hooks only for pike fishing.
  • Livebaiting is allowed (only silverfish caught at the venue).
  • NO freshwater silver fish are to be brought onto the complex for pike fishing, only those caught at the complex may be used as deadbaits.
  • Members are responsible for abiding by all the rules. Any member found in breach of the rules or of any improper conduct at the venue will be asked to leave the complex and could face a possible ban or loss of their membership.
